An Chy Coth

Dating back to the mid-17th Century, An Chy Coth ("The Old House" in Cornish) is the oldest house in Flushing. This Grade II listed cottage, only a minute's walk from the waterfront, has been sympathetically restored by owners, Anne and Jim, who welcome bed and breakfast visitors to their home which has been awarded four stars by English Tourism.

Accommodation

An Chy Coth offers two comfortable guest bedrooms, one with a 5ft double bed, and a single room with optional extra bed making it ideal for children sharing. Both rooms have en suite showers where you will find White Company towels and Crabtree & Evelyn toiletries.

The rooms are furnished and decorated in traditional cottage style with a hint of the contemporary. Each has a television, hair dryer, Fairtrade organic tea and coffee and Cornish spring water. The guest rooms are upstairs on the top floor of the house, accessed from the front entrance and separate from the main part of the house, ensuring privacy for visitors.

Breakfast

Breakfast is served downstairs in the large kitchen-dining room. All food is cooked on the Aga using, wherever possible, organic produce including free-range eggs from the local farm. There is a choice of fresh orange juice, fresh or stewed fruit, organic yoghurt, muesli, organic porridge and traditional bacon and eggs or scrambled eggs with organic smoked salmon.

Further Details

Storage is available for bicycles and surfboards, etc, without additional cost. There is no smoking allowed at the house. An Chy Coth does not take bookings for January or February.

Tariff

£35 per person per night with a £5 surcharge for stays of one night only. There is a reduction for children under the age of 12 and a minimum stay of two nights applies during Bank Holiday weekends and during July and August.
